Hello. If you haven't already been following along in Ms. Floatyfish's journal, then I'd like to introduce myself. I am Mr. K. Cat, Esquire. I live here in North East, Maryland at this present moment, but I'm truly a mere boarder at this house and I desperately am in need of a new place of residence.
I have my own soft bed that I lay on constantly and I have a green mouse with a large head that is my buddy. I adore playing with the laser and I'm pretty sure that I will someday pin that sucker down. I have a litter box of my very own and a food bowl. I've been checked for FIV and Feline Leukemia and have a clean bill of health. I've been neutered, but I do have all of my claws...but do not use them. I've just had my shots updated and have been given a 3-year rabies vaccine and distemper. I do deal with a bit of seasonal allergies that show up as sores/scabs on my back, but at the moment Ms. Floatyfish and her JohnBoy are giving me antibiotics and some steroids to try to curb the itching and heal my skin. So far it seems that this seasonal allergy only happens in the Fall and otherwise I have a thick, lush coat.
Mr. JohnBoy has just been diagnosed with an allergy to kitties and although he's always had a kitty before me, I do tend to shed an awful lot and lick because of my allergies. Something about me seems to extra-affect his allergies, so I am in desperate need of a new home. I was rescued from their back porch where I'd shown up all but skin-and-bones a year ago with my skin covered in sores and some abcesses from trying to fight other kitties for food. I'm quite the filled-out boy now and although I do like to try to jump on the crochety, old lady kitty that lives here already, I've never tried to hurt her. I'm not sure how old -I- am, but the vet thinks maybe a few years old (maybe 3-4 years old).
Ms. Floatyfish and Mr. JohnBoy are willing to drive me to a new home even, just so they don't have to take me to the SPCA, which isn't fully a no-kill shelter. They've called almost twenty different no-kill shelters locally, but none of them can take any more kitties..not even kittens, who always seem to be adopted.
Here I am again...
If you would be interested in adopting me or if you could spread the word, I'd greatly appreciate it. They are really trying to find me a home in the next week or they may need to take me to the SPCA. You can e-mail them at floatyfish_at_comcast.net and they can give you any other information on me.
Thank you for any help at all! This post is open to the public, so if you have kitty-lovers on your friend's list that may be local/partially-local..go ahead and link to it!
